During extreme steering maneuvers the Electronic Stability Controlen_always_drive_carefully (ESC) system with Electronic roll Mitigation (ERM) helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over- or understeer.
ESC automatically applies individual brakes or controls the throttle to help you stay safely on course. When you don't want the extra hand, ESC is specially tuned for performance handling so you can switch it off.
Other accident avoidance features include:
- Antilock Brake System (ABS) with unique 4WD off road settings
- All-speed traction control, which applies brakes and transfers torque where needed
- Brake assist system, which applies maximum braking power during panic braking
- Two available four-wheel drive systems

- Hill Descent Control & Hill Start Assist

The road can be a threatening place - but with Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist, Liberty has the agility to help you navigate life's ups and downs.
Hill Descent Control with grade sensing allows a smooth and controlled hill descent on rough or slippery terrain without the driver needing to touch the brake pedal. This system applies the brakes to each wheel individually when needed to reduce forward motion while negotiating down steep grades.
Hill Start Assist (HSA) assists drivers when starting a vehicle from a stop on a hill by maintaining the level of brake pressure applied for a short period after the driver's foot is removed from the brake pedal. If throttle is not applied within a short period after the driver's foot is removed from the brake pedal, brake pressure will be released.
- Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

Both of Liberty's Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems regularly check inflation levels for optimal safety, security, performance and fuel economy. If the levels are off, a warning light will illuminate on the instrument panel.
According to fueleconomy.gov, you can improve your gas mileage by around 3.3% by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure (that’s up to 11 cents / gallon savings!). Proper inflation also benefits the life of your tires.
