During extreme steering maneuvers the Electronic Stability Program[1] (ESP) system helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over- or understeer.

The system automatically applies individual brakes or controls the throttle to help you stay safely on course. When you don't want the extra hand, ESP[1] is specially tuned for performance handling so you can switch it off.

Patriot's four-wheel Antilock Brake System (ABS) includes brake assist and all-speed traction control to help you maintain vehicle control during emergency braking. ABS modulates the brakes to reduce stopping distances and improve steering control under braking. Special off-road calibration provides sustained lockup on surfaces like mud or gravel for improved braking, and aid in trail driving when in four-wheel-drive Off-Road mode.

Anticipating the need for additional traction, Patriot's four-wheel drive system automatically responds to wheel slippage by transferring power equally to both the front and rear wheels, improving vehicle stability.
