You can expect to Go Anywhere, Do Anything™ in a Jeep® vehicle, thanks to over 67 years of tried and true off-road craftsmanship.
Liberty has two available 4WD Trail Rated® systems, in addition to the standard two-wheel-drive (2WD).
Liberty Selec-Trac® II 4WD is the most advanced 4WD system in its class.[1]
You’ll also find a skid plate group, telescoping rear driveshaft that adjusts for small changes during normal suspension travel and newly located gas tank that allows the tire to be mounted under the vehicle for added versatility.
Skid Plates

Skid plates help protect vital underbody components: the front skid plate protects the radiator and cooling fan; the front suspension skid plate protects the front axle, steering gear and engine oil pan; the transmission skid plate protects the trans oil pan and valve housing; the transfer case skid plate protects the transfer case, and fuel tank skid plate enhances the performance of the fuel tank brush guard.

Liberty has two available Trail Rated® 4WD systems, in addition to the standard two-wheel-drive system. The next-generation Selec-Trac® II 4WD transfer case is always active so you’ll be ready for rocks or mud and anything in-between. The next-generation Command-Trac® 4WD system with its part-time transfer case is all but unstoppable in severe off-road situations.

Tank & Tire Location

The 19.5-gallon mid-mounted fuel tank was moved to meet all side and front impact criteria, as well as to enhance fuel system integrity. The move also allowed the spare tire to be mounted under the vehicle, allowing for security and easy access when needed.
