Liberty's 3.7L V6 engine and 19.5-gallon fuel tank capacity give a generous cruising range of up to 429 miles[3].
- Green Story
Paints, adhesives and plastics often contain considerable quantities of solvents. Unhappy with emission levels, the engineers and paint specialists at Liberty’s Toledo North Plant (TNAP) set about devising methods of eliminating solvents.
The outcome is a dramatic reduction in solvent consumption and emissions, and cutting the impact on the environment.
The Jeep Liberty manufacturing plant is super green thanks to a chrome-free phosphate, a lead-free E-coat process, a powder coating prime coat and a waterborne basecoat. The Toledo North Assembly Plant (TNAP) is continuing the company's efforts to push powder coating and other technologies to higher levels of quality, performance and environmental friendliness.
- Aerodynamics / Wind Tunnel
The Liberty, including the Sky Slider™ roof, was extensively tested in Chrysler’s state-of-the-art Aero-Acoustic Wind Tunnel for maximum slipperiness.
A unique roof structure in the Sky Slider roof was used that allows similar performance in noise, wind and crash safety as the standard hard-topped Liberty.
The steeply raked front windshield, roof racks, side mirrors and other key elements were sculpted to reduce drag and wind noise.
